The Project Construction Department of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has completed 10 Air Bundle Cable (ABC) projects to reduce electrocution incidents, power theft and loss rates in the MEPCO region.

ABC cable has been laid at a cost of 1 crore 18 lakh rupees in the narrow streets of the inner city in Multan and DG Khan on the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer of MapQuan Engineer Mehrullah Yar Bharwana. Project Director Construction Mapusahil Bashir said that during February 2023 under the management of Multan Circle, ABC cable installation projects were completed at a cost of 19 lakh 80 thousand rupees in Bilal Nagar, 16 lakh 78 thousand rupees in Goshah Wali Kotla Tole Khan, 13 lakh 57 thousand rupees in Dewan Ka Bagh Street# 10 and 13 lakh 57 thousand rupees on Tughlaq Road.

The management of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has extended the payment date of electricity bills for the convenience of all consumers.Batch wise detail of date extension is as follows:

Batch 1 & 2 : Bill Payment data extended from March 20 and 21 to March 24
Batch 3 & 4 : Bill Payment date extended from March 22 and 24 to March 27
Batch 5 & 6 : Bill Payment date extended from March 27 to March 28

All the above electricity consumers can submit their electricity bills without Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) till the extended date. All operational officers across the region and financial institutions (banks, post offices and others) in South Punjab have been informed about the extension of electricity bill payment date.

Teams of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) caught 68 consumers stealing electricity while operating in South Punjab in one day.A fine of 35 lakh 94 thousand rupees was imposed for stealing 1 lakh 69 thousand units of electricity and 5 cases filed against them. According to Director Commercial Mapco Asad Hamad, on March 18, 2023, 21 electricity thieves were fined Rs. 1096800 in Komaltan Circle.

2 electricity thieves were fined Rs 15000 in DG Khan Circle, 7 consumers were fined Rs 348318 in Bahawalpur Circle and an FIR was registered, 16 electricity thieves were fined Rs 345000 in Rahim Yar Khan Circle, 22 consumers were fined Rs 1789034 in Khanewal Circle.
